The intent of our aftercare program is to give maximum support to the woman who is recovering but no longer in an ongoing inpatient or outpatient A.O.D.A. program.

The elements of the program are:

weekly group meeting to help clients see the good in themselves and to work on recovery issues

financial aid for rent in an approved transitional housing setting, if needed. Usually we require attendance at four consecutive Thursday afternoon sessions before this assistance would be in effect.

assistance in obtaining employment.

employment skills education as needed.

clothing for work and casual wear if needed

medical care if none is available to her through other programs.

other needs can be presented to Franciscan Peacemakers who will meet to discuss whether or not it is in the best interests of the woman to give that help, or to lead her to get that help in some other healthy manner.

help in obtaining a decent living situation can be given after the woman has lived in transitional housing long enough that it is deemed she is ready for independent living.

as far as it is possible we assist the woman moving into an independent living situation to get some furniture and household supplies.

assistance for the children of the women is available in a limited way at this time. This is a program we feel is urgent and we are developing aspects of it at this time.
